Down to You by Michelle Leighton

Panting.... WOW... mmmm.... hot flashes... sorry still a little speechless. Let me catch my breath.... Just finished reading Down to You by Michelle Leighton.  If you haven't gotten a copy then let me ask you this, "What are you waiting for?"  This book was fun, sexy, exciting oh yeah and did I mention HOT!!! HOT!!! HOT!!

I loved the characters, Olivia or Liv as she is known to her friends has a great personality.  She is shy but adventurous. She is defiantly a very interesting  character.  I love the way she pushes through her shyness just goes for it.

What can I say about Nash and Cash... Does a girl have to pick just one?  They are both amazing characters.  Cash is the bad boy every girl wants.  He devilishly sexy, seductive and fun.  But guys like that are usually trouble.  Well I say a little trouble if good for the soul and I absolutely  want some.  Maybe I am a  Cash type of girl.

Nash is the good boy every girl needs.  He's smart, mature, and seems to have his life together.  But don't count him out because he too can be you hot and bothered.  Now that I think about it maybe I'm a Nash type of girl.

By the way did I forget to mention that they are twins!!!

Confused, I know I was. Watching Olivia trying to decide was as painful for me as it was for her.  It was easy to get caught up in the story. I read the book in one sitting and to me that's the mark of a good book, one you just can't put down.

I afraid I can't go into more detail about the story because I might ruin it for other and that could almost be a sin. So all I will say that if you want a heart pounding, mind blowing read then pick up Down to You.

Starbright by Rachel Higginson

5 stars!!!!

I was so sad when I read Rachel last book, Endless Magic (Star-Crossed Series, Book 4) because I would have to patiently wait for her next series to come out.  So let me tell you that the first book in her new series, Starbright  does not disappoint . .  I was so delighted when I saw on Facebook that she had just released a new book, Starbright.  I immediately bought it last night and if it wasn't for the fact that I had an early morning and that I had to wake up in 3 hours I wouldn't have but the book down.  Needless to say I finished it as soon as I could the next day.

Stella is an amazing character even though she is an angel and supposed to be a good girl, she has flare, spunk and spirit. I love her attitude.  She the type of girl you probably would have been friends in high school.

The story is captivating and the love triangle. Yummy!!! How do you choose between your life long best friend and the boy that is supposed to be your perfect half.  I certainly don't envy being in Stella's shoes.  I personally am on Seth's team.  The way that he is patient with her even though they are meant for each other is endearing.  I am sure that it takes a lot of understanding to give time and space to the one person that makes your heart flutter.  Seth is a true gentleman and even in literature they are hard to find these days.

All in all I have to say that the story was beautifully written and I love the way Rachel Higginson develops her stories and her characters.  Its always good when you feel that you are transported into the story and are a silent spectator.Yes,  sometimes you want to shout out and tell the characters thing, but the internal battle that wages inside you as the story unfolds is always the best part.

Cant wait until the next book in the series.  Sunburst, the second book will be available on November 12th. I will be counting the days.

Book Description (from amazon)

Stella is a Star, sent by a Council of Elders to live on Earth and protect the planet from the Darkness, a terrifying evil that would suck the good from every living thing and leave the planet empty and desolate. She has until her twenty-fifth birthday before the Protectorship becomes hers and Earth is left solely her responsibility.

Stella’s fate goes on fast forward as she struggles to balance the rest of high school with the duties of protecting humanity from the deadliest kind of evil.

With her parents and Seth, the boy intended to be her Counterpart, by her side she faces down demons and fallen angels in an effort to protect the last inhabited planet in the universe.

But evil is not her only enemy. She also fights her future as she tries to decide if she’s willing to give up her human relationships, especially that of her best friend Tristan, in order to save humanity.
